On January 11th 2012 KRASS together with the Ecological Movement of the Parliament of Uzbekistan has conducted a Round Table for sharing the experience and lessons learnt ‘On sustainable use of land and water resources in Uzbekestan’ from the ZEF/UNESCO Khorezm project. A Brochure entitled ‘Innovations to agriculture of Uzbekistan’, prepared by the KRASS team was presented and discussed.

In January 2012 course performed in GIS lab Urgench according to the indication of professors in Wurzburg university Christopher Conrad and Gunther Schorcht for the requirement of the specialists of Cadastre office in Khorezm region. In this course participants trained by theoretical and practical knowledge about the most common spatial algorithms in Geographic Information System (GIS) and RS. The course was covered spatial concepts and algorithms both vector and raster. During the course participants were able to establishment of Geo-Database, design and draft the cartographic and cadastral maps and plans, skilled in data collection by GPS techniques also.

Since March 2012 KRASS will start the project funded by GEF SGP on EcoEducation, in the framework of which training program on Applied Ecology for Khorezm will be elaborated and training conduct for the students, other interested stakeholders as well as ToT (training of the teachers)

Within the frame of UN Joint Program for “SUSTAINING LIVELIHOODS AFFECTED BY THE ARAL SEA DISASTER” 202 UZB400.2, under the direct supervision of UNESCO Head (Tashkent Representative office) NGO KRASS in close collaboration with the Urgench State University named after Al-Khorezmi, conducted traiings on August 1-8, 2012 to prepare agricultural consultants to manage water resources and degraded lands issues. 9 representatives from 3 districts of Karakalpakstan took part there. (Beruni, Turtkul, Ellikala).

FOPSI (Social Initiatives Support Fund) together with NGO KRASS implemented a project “Increasing of potential and improving of livelihood of wmen in Karakalpakstan through harvest, storage and processing of fruits and vegetables “ in 3 districts of Karakalpakstan (Shumanay, Kanlikul and Muynak) by training them to use modern and effective methods of harvesting, storage and processing of fruits and vegetables. 2 sets of trainings were conducted as follows: “Modern and effective methods of harvesting and storage of fruits and vegetables”, “Modern technologies of grape and fruits drying and candied fruits”. 56 socially active women from Karakalpakstan have been trained. They are supposed to disseminate the gaimed knowledge and skills in their districts. The main partners of NGO KRASS during implementation of the project were Urgench State University named after Al-Khorezmi and Samarkand Department of the Science-Research Institute named after Shreder, head of the Department on storage and processing , Mirzakhidov Sh.
